The launch of chatGPT made artificial intelligence (AI), and in particular generative AI, the hottest topic in the market. Everybody has an opinion about it, ranging from starstruck awe to existential fear. Industry, construction, and infrastructure are no exceptions; digitalisation is ubiquitous, and with digital data comes the opportunity to use AI.
Amid the turbulence of the stern wave behind chatGPT, it is easy to lose sight of the wide range of powerful tools in the AI toolbox. In this talk, Elin will guide us through the turbulence and explain how mathematics and statistics applied to large amounts of data can automate tasks and processes, disrupt business models, redefine search and research, and fuel innovation of new products and services. All this without posing a fundamental threat to most jobs. She then invites the audience to reflect on the flipsides of artificial intelligence, such as responsibility, discriminatory practices, cyber security, and sustainability.
Speaker: Elin Hauge, Futurist and AI Expert

This presentation explores how Skanska is advancing project delivery through BIM by unlocking the full potential of information within models. With quantities and survey data at the core, the focus is on creating efficient workflows, overcoming challenges, and delivering a better product to end client and society. To navigate through industry various frameworks and standards and to address project needs, we developed our own package of requirements, KMI, which has become our solution for improving processes and ensuring successful project execution. However, requirements alone are not enough. People play central role in achieving the desired results. Collaboration, understanding, and the ability to adapt are key to making model-based workflows successful and ensuring better project outcomes.
